Abstract

Slaughtering enterprises may be authorized to use particular names on the labelling of poultry for marketing purposes, when the conditions specified in Annex A to this Decree are fullfilled. Such names shall indicate the types of farming as well as feedingstuffs used, as referred to in article 1, which includes the following terms: (a) "Fed with ...% of..."; (b) "Extensive indoor"; (c) "Free range"; (d) "Traditional free range"; (e) "Free range-total freedom". Article 3 specifies the information to be submitted by the applicant to obtain the authorization. The information shall be registered in accordance with the specimen contained in Annex D, as well. Private inspection bodies and the competent regional authorities shall regularly perform checks on authorized slaughterhouses.
