Such certification shall be carried out in two stages: (a) the issuance of a hygienic certificate by the state sanitary supervision body, and if necessary the contemporaneous issuance of a veterinary or phytosanitary certificate by the State Veterinary Supervision Service or the State Plant Quarantine Service; and (b) the issuance of a compliance certificate by the certification authority. Hygienic certificates for domestic commodities shall be valid for three years, while for imported commodities it shall be valid for a period corresponding to the product’s lifetime. The official certification institution shall be Uzstandart, which shall be authorized to recognize foreign certificates in accordance with international agreements concluded by Uzbekistan.
