This Regulation commences on 1 September 2003.
Abstract

This Regulation implements the Mining Act 1992 by providing specifications on several matters related to mining, including: formal matters, including the meaning of certain terms used in the Regulation (Part 1 and Schedules 1-3), prospecting and mining generally (Part 2 and Schedules 4 and 5), authorities issued under the Act (Part 3 and Schedule 6), mineral claims (Part 4), opal prospecting licences (Part 5), powers of entry (Part 6), compensation arising under a mining lease (Part 7), the payment of royalties by the holder of a mining lease (Part 8 and Schedule 7), the membership and procedure of the Mine Safety Advisory Council (Part 9 and Schedule 8), the constitution and procedure of boards of management (Part 10 and Schedule 9).
