Abstract

This Act provides power to the Minister to declare, by Order, that an area used for mining, or adjacent to a mine, shall be a mining health area. The Minister may make Regulations that shall apply to one or more mining health areas. The matters that may be regulated include: sanitation and health conditions in an area; removal of refuse, waste products and sewage; the abatement of nuisances; and the provision of an adequate supply of wholesome drinking water in a mining health area.
