Abstract

Section 4 of the above-mentioned Regulations establishes that all persons engaged in the rehabilitation of mines and mine hazards shall comply with the standards, procedures and requirements of the Mine Rehabilitation Code of Ontario set out in Schedule 1. The Code consists of 9 Parts as follows: Protection of mine openings to surface (1); Open pits (2); Stability of Crown pillar and room and pillar operations (3); Tailings dams and other containment structures (4); Surface water monitoring (5); Groundwater monitoring (6); Metal leaching and acid rock drainage requirements (7); Physical stability monitoring (8); Revegetation (9).
