Abstract

These Regulations implement Community legislation on technical requirements for inland waterway vessels and reciprocal recognition of navigability licences for inland waterway vessels. They shall apply to vessels operating on any waterway in the United Kingdom including large fishing vessels. Vessels are required to carry a Community inland navigation certificate, a Rhine Navigation Certificate or a navigability certificate of a third country recognized by the Secretary of State as equivalent to a Community inland navigation certificate. The Regulations also make provision regarding inspection and remedial measures.
