Abstract

These Regulations lay down rules for the security of ship and port facilities. These Regulations shall apply to types of ships engaged in international voyages and port facilities serving such ships. These Regulations set forth provisions on security measures including responsibilities of the director and coast guard; requirements for companies; ship security plans; requirements for ships; ship security alert system; verification of ships by the authorized officers; procedures and principles for certification; prohibition of proceeding to sea without an appropriate certificate; inspection of ships in port and ships intending to enter ports; port facility security assessment; exchange of information for communication; powers of authorized officers for inspection; and offences and penalties.
