Abstract

The present Law implements the Federal Animal Protection Act of 25 May 1998 (BGBl. I p.1105). Article 2 establishes that the Ministry for Food, Agriculture, Forestry and Fishery is responsible for issuing authorizations to slaughter animals without anaesthesia; article 3 rules that the Veterinary and Foodstuff Office is the competent authority for all other matters. The text consists of 7 articles.
