Abstract These Measures, consisting of 23 articles, aim at the protection and sustainable utilization of artemia resources. The Measures request people's governments at or above the county level take measures to strengthen the protection of artemia resources, prevent indiscriminate fishing, improve artemia surviving environment, and prevent and control pollution. The conservation, breeding, development and research of artemia shall be encouraged. The provincial fishery authority shall be in charge of the protection of artemia resources. The competent fishery authorities at or above the county level shall organize the investigation and evaluation of artemia resources, set up the fishing quotas, fishing location and seasons, and issue the fishing licenses.
