Abstract

These Bye-laws, made by the Mbarara Municipal Council under of section 39 of the Local Governments Act, regulate and enforce proper and effective solid waste management within Mbarara Municipality. They require solid waste that is not managed at the owners’ property to be disposed of at approved solid waste disposal sites and require a producer of solid waste shall sort and separate the solid waste into organic, inorganic and special waste. They also impose fees on waste disposal and define offences.
