This Law shall go into effect on 1 January 1984 (art. 53).
Abstract

The provisions of this Law are formulated in order to strengthen the control of maritime traffic; ensure the safety of vessels, installations, human life and property. It consists of the following Chapters: General Provisions (I); Inspection and Registration of Vessels (II); Personnel on Vessels and Installations (III); Navigation, Berthing and Operations (IV); Safety Protection (V); Transport of Dangerous Goods (VI); Rescue from Disasters at Sea (VII); Salvage and Removal of Sunken and Drifting Objects (VIII); Investigation and Handling of Traffic Accidents (IX); Legal Liability (X); Special Provisions (XI); Supplementary Provisions (XII).
