Abstract

This regulation declares the Large Pelagic Longline Fishery to be a Designated Fishery pursuant to section 6 of the Act. The Fishery Plan and these regulations apply to all commercial longline fishing, targeting large pelagic species within the fishery waters. This regulation includes measures setting limits on fishing effort; protection of non-target species; the reporting of all discarded catches; vessel licensing; and transhipment among others.
