"Seine net" means a net which is buoyed at the top and weighted at the bottom, and which is manipulated to surround schools of fish (dir. 2). Seine net licences shall be issued only to residents of the Cayman Islands. The use of seine nets in Marine Park Zones, Replenishment Zones or Environmental Zones is not permitted. Some other areas are declared off limits for use of seine nets. The Board may revoke a licence to use seine nets in case of illegal practices such as contravening provision of the Marine Conservation law or the terms of licence.
