Requests for approval must be send to the NMFS Office of Law Enforcement (OLE). In a type-approval request, a requestor must identify the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) region(s) and/ or Federal fisheries for which the requestor seeks type-approval. Enhanced mobile transceiver units (EMTU) must comply with specified functionality requirements.
