Abstract

The present Law enforces the Federal Water Water Charges Act in its version of 6 November 1990 (BGBl. I p. 2432) which establishes that the Länder shall levy the charges for discharging waste water into a water within the meaning of article 1 of the Federal Water Act. The amount of the charge shall depend on the noxiousness of the waste water. The text - consisting of 15 articles – deals, inter alia, with the following matters: charges to be paid for precipitation water, basis for evaluation for waste water, duties to pay charges for third parties, exemption of duty to pay charges, recording of persons due to pay and duty to declare, determination of amount, expiration and prescription, application of other provisions and penalties.
