Abstract

The purpose of the present Law is to implement and complete the Federal Soil Protection Act of 17 March 1998 (BGBl. I p. 502). Article 1 establishes that the originator of a harmful change to the soil shall report this without delay to the competent authority. The text consists of 14 articles as follows: Duty to report and to give information (1); Right of entrance (2); Experts (3); Soil planning areas (4); Provisions on proceedings (5); Index of contaminated sites (6); Sanitation advisory boards (7); Soil information system (8); Soil protection authorities (9); Competent authorities (10); Compensation of costs (11); Empowerment to issue regulations concerning compensation claims (12); Data processing (13); Penalties (14).
