Abstract

The present Law lays down provisions relating to the establishment of the biosphere reserve “Lower Saxony Elbe Valley”. The aim of the Elbe River Landscape Biosphere Reserve is to preserve and develop the landscape with its unique scenery and its cultural, social and economic values and functions in a way which serves the needs of both man and nature. The text consists of 44 articles divided into 5 Parts as follows: General provisions, requirements and prohibitions (I); Requirements and prohibitions for area A and B (II); Accompanying and compensating measures (III); Management and care (IV); Penalties (V): Seven Annexes are enclosed.
