Abstract This Act establishes the penalties to be applied in case of infrigement of binding provisions concerning the marketing of fresh fruit and vegetables. The offences envisaged are (i) the marketing of fresh fruit and vegetables without previous registration as per article 11 of Regulation (EEC) No. 2251/92 (which has been replaced by Regulation 1148/2001/EC), (ii) failure to provide the competent control authority with the information required as per article 4 of the same Regulation, and (iii) failure to comply with the quality provisions laid down in article 2 of Regulation (EC) No. 2200/96.
