Abstract This Legislative Decree, consisting of 44 articles divided into six Chapters, establishes the special legal regime for the protection and conservation of sea turtles in Cape Verde. It applies to the different species of living or non-living sea turtles, which are in the maritime zone under the jurisdiction of the State of Cape Verde. It includes as well as remains and products obtained or derived from sea turtles species as follows: a) Meat; b) Bones; c) Shell; d) Plastron; e) Eggs; f) Skin; g) Fat (lard); h) Blood; i) Male sexual organ; etc. It also regulates their supervision, criminal and administrative restrictions.
