Abstract This Law prescribes the parameters of health safety of water for human use, obligations of legal entities performing the activity of public water supply, activities in the case of deviations from prescribed values of parameters, monitoring the health of water for human use, as well as other issues of importance for correct water for human use, in order to protect human health. This Law does not apply to the systematic testing of radionuclide content in water for beverages, natural mineral water recognized by the state administration body responsible for health affairs and water that is considered a medical product. Water for human consumption is considered to be: 1) water in its original state or after treatment intended for drinking, cooking, food preparation or other household needs, regardless of its origin and regardless of whether the supply is made from the distribution network, cisterns or from bottles or water containers; 2) water used by food production entities for production, processing, preservation or placing on the market of products or substances intended for human consumption, except if the Ministry and the administrative body responsible for food safety agree that the quality of water cannot affect food safety in its final form.
