The purpose of the Law is to protect wild mammals and birds, as well as to organize and plan hunting activities taking into account local conditions, such as agriculture, nature and animal protection and control of animal disease. Furthermore, the Canton is responsible for the protection of biodiversity and habitats of native and migrating wild mammals and birds and the protection of endangered species.
