Abstract This Law regulates relations originating from dealing with the sources of ionizing radiation and management of radioactive waste. The Act consists of 10 Sections divided into 27 articles: (1) scope of the law; (2) state management in the sphere of ensuring radiation safety; (3) licensing; (4) requirements for ensuring radiation safety; (5) radioactive waste and putting out of operation generators of ionizing radiation; (6) reduction of radiation of foodstuffs; (7) reduction of natural radiation; (8) requirements for ensuring of radiation safety in the process of medical examination; (9) liability; and (10) conclusive provisions. Ensuring radiation safety shall be based upon the following principles: (a) substantiation of the use of the sources of ionizing radiation; (b) optimization so as to keep low radiation of individuals or the public; and (c) restriction so as to prevent excess of the established radiation dose.
