Abstract This Law regulates common and particular conditions of fruits and berries, fruit planting material, development and raising production potential of fruit trees and berry plantations. The Act consists of seven Sections divided into 16 articles: (1) general provisions; (2) production and trade of fruit planting material; (3) planting of fruit and berry varieties; (4) production and trade of fruits and berries; (5) state promotion of fruit growing; (6) liability; and (7) conclusive and transitional provisions. The Ministry of Agriculture and Food shall be the authorized institution in the sphere of fruit growing. Once in ten years all the fruit and berry plantations shall be registered and recorded in the national register. Only certified fruit and berry planting material shall be authorized for trade and planting of fruit and berry varieties. Anti-erosion arrangements and pest control shall be carried out obligatorily by all producers of fruits and berries. Packaging, labelling, transport and storage of fruits, berries and planting material shall be carried out in compliance with standards.
