Abstract Nature and its components are the national property of the Kyrgyz Republic, one of the main factors of its socio-economic development. The present Law determines policy and regulates the relations in the field of nature management and environmental protection in the Kyrgyz Republic. The document consists of XII Sections that contain 59 Articles. Sec.I (arts. 1-6) lays down general provisions. Sec.II (Arts.7-9) environmental rate setting. Sec.III (Arts.10-15) regards nature management. Sec.IV (Arts.16-28) establishes ecological requirements to economic and other types of activity. Sec.V (Arts.29-32) establishes control in the field of environmental protection. Sec.VI (Arts.33-36) regards financial arrangements in the field of environmental protection. Sec.VII (Arts.37-39) regards ecological disaster areas. Sec.VIII (Arts.40-47) establishes competence of state institutions, plenary powers of social associations, rights and duties of citizens and users of natural resources in the field of environmental protection.
