Abstract With the provisions of the present law, the Greek legislative framework is harmonized with Directive No. 2002/91/EC of the European Parliament and Council on the energy performance of newly build and existing buildings. With a Joint Decree issued by the Ministers of Economy and Finance, Growth and Environment, Land planning and Public Works, which shall be issued obligatorily within six (6) months after the coming into force of the present law, a Regulation of Energy Performance of Buildings shall be established. The Regulation shall determine the methodology of calculation of the energy performance of buildings, the minimum requirements for their energy performance, the type and the content of a study for the energy performance of buildings, the competent authorities responsible for issuing the study, the process and frequency of energy performance related inspections to buildings, boilers and installations of heating and systems of air conditioning, the type and the content of the Energy Performance Certificate as prescribed in article 6.
