Abstract This Law is composed of 11 Chapters divided in 31 articles. It approves the State Policy on climate change, environment conservation and sustainable development. The Law sets the Policy’s main objectives and guidelines and institutes seven thematic programmes, respectively addressed to: education on climate change, forestry, environmental monitoring, environmental protection, clean technologies’ exchange, capacity-building for public bodies, alternative energies and greenhouse gas reduction. Particular attention is paid to financial instruments and to the creation of a dedicated State Fund. Moreover, the law regulates certification and environmental licensing procedures. Finally, it rules on a special inventory regarding all types of gas emissions’ sources and carbon stocks.
