This Law enters into force six months after the date of its official publication.
Abstract

Law No. 70-XVI on apiculture shall be supplemented with Section V of the following wording: “"Chapter V Union of beekeepers Article 19. Association of beekeepers. In order to ensure the protection of their rights and interests, as well as planning and developing products, organizing the marketing of beekeeping products, beekeepers can create associations of beekeepers and groups of producers. The organization and functioning of associations of beekeepers and groups of producers shall be regulated by the Law on Public Associations No. 837/1996 or by the Law on Groups of Agricultural Producers and their Associations No. 312/2013. Article 20. Activity of associations of beekeepers. The activity of associations of beekeepers is independent and carried out in accordance with their statutes and the acting legislation. The main objectives of the activity of associations of beekeepers shall be as follows: (a) presentation of beekeepers and protection of their interests at all levels; (b) implementation of measures to protect bees, the environment, honey sources, the population and animals staying in the areas of bee colonies; (c) submission to the central and local public administration authorities of proposals for cooperation in the field of environmental protection, improvement of the honey base; (d) organization of exhibitions, fairs, meetings, conferences, seminars and other activities to promote beekeeping in order to develop this industry; (e) cooperation with the public administration authorities in the development of the beekeeping policy, in the drafting of regulatory acts in this field in accordance with the current legislation; (f) organization of courses on best practices in beekeeping; and (g) the establishment, in accordance with the acting legislation, of commercial societies of beekeepers”.
