Abstract This Law establishes the legal, organizational and economic basis for carrying out activities in the field of apiculture, the directions and procedure for state regulation, as well as guarantees for the protection of property rights in this sector, aimed at protecting and increasing bee colonies, manufactured products and the effective use of honey bees in the pollination of entomophilous plants. Natural persons and legal entities freely carry out entrepreneurial activities in the field of apiculture in the manner established by the legislation of the Republic of Tajikistan. Business entities in the field of apiculture may create unions (associations) and (or) become members of them in the manner determined by the national legislation. Natural persons who are not individual entrepreneurs are authorized to carry out activities in the field of apiculture to meet their own personal needs in the amount of up to 30 bee families. Ready and (or) prepared apiculture products are sold after passing a veterinary and sanitary examination for compliance with food safety requirements and in the presence of a document confirming the quality and safety of the products. Natural persons and economic entities in the apiculture sector, organize apiaries with equipment, tools and other necessary material resources on the relevant land plots. The apiary is organized on the basis of a zoning plan for honey bee breeds in the relevant zones. Local executive bodies of state power have the right to establish the number of apiaries placed by natural persons and business entities in the field of apiculture within the boundaries of suburban and green zones, based on the conditions of keeping honey bees and in accordance with veterinary and sanitary norms and rules. The procedure for placing hives with bee families on the territory of horticultural and gardening organizations is determined by the general meeting of these organizations. Registration of apiaries is carried out on the basis of a veterinary and sanitary certificate issued by the authorized state body in the field of food safety. Individuals and legal entities engaged in the cultivation of entomophilous plants, in order to increase their productivity, can use bee colonies that are their own and (or) the property of other persons. Prevention of diseases of honey bees, their treatment and control of harmful insects are carried out in accordance with the veterinary legislation of the Republic of Tajikistan. Natural persons and business entities in the sector of apiculture are responsible for the implementation of measures to prevent diseases of honey bees, including diseases inserted by the authorized state body in the field of food safety in the list of particularly dangerous diseases, their treatment and the fight against pests of bee colonies. This Law contains 6 Chapters divided into 30 Articles. Chapter 1 lays down general provisions. Chapter 2 establishes the activities in the field of apiculture.
