Abstract This Law establishes the State Programme named «Without Hunger». The Programme aims to promote availability and access to food, as well as its full consumption from a nutritional and sustainable point of view. It focuses on the population in situations of food insecurity and socioeconomic vulnerability, through the following actions: promoting income security; provision of free and/or low-cost meals; strengthening the State's food and nutritional security network; promotion of local food production arrangements and family farming, with special attention to: women, coloured people, family farmers and ranchers, artisanal fishers and shellfish gatherers, recyclable material collectors, indigenous peoples and traditional communities; and promotion of food and nutritional education activities, aiming to promote the practice of healthy eating habits.
