Abstract

This law amends the Farmland Law (No. 11 of 2012). It substitutes the definitions of Farmland, Alluvial Land, Farmer and Farmer organization and inserts new definitions for Silty Land and Shifting Cultivation Land. It makes amendments to sections 7 and 9 to 21. It inserts a new section 25-A relating to order or decision of the administrative body of Farmland. Further, sections 26, 27, 28, 31, 32, 35, 37 and 38 are amended. A new section 37-A relating to punishment for encroachment is inserted and section 40 is deleted.
