Abstract

The purpose of this Joint Order is the preservation and rational use of fish stock in the Volga-Kama river basin. The Presidents of the Federal Fisheries Committee and the State Committee for Environmental Protection decree to validate the Regulation. This Regulation covers the issues of conservation, management, protection and rational use of aquatic biodiversity and ecological state of water basins considered fishing areas. The document regards all organizations independently of the form of property and all physical persons that are engaged in fishing and harvest of aquatic biodiversity, processing, handling and distribution of fish products. The infringers of the Regulation on fishing in the Volga-Kama river basin are liable to civil and penal prosecution under article 84 of the Law "On environmental protection" and articles 256 and 257 of the Penal Code.
