Abstract This Joint Norm, consisting of 5 articles and one Annex, regulates the registration of biological control agents. It establishes procedures to be adopted for the purpose of registering biological control agents. This Joint Norm excludes microbiological control agents and organisms whose genetic material has been modified by any genetic engineering technique. The products covered by the provisions of this Joint Norm, when coming from other countries, will also be subject to specific regulations regarding quarantine requirements. For the purpose of recording the biological control agents mentioned in art. 1 of this Joint Norm, or products containing them, the applicant shall submit a request to the federal agencies of agriculture, health and the environment.
