The present Law enters into force on 8 March 1999.
Abstract

The present Law implements the Federal Forest Act of 4 October 1991. Part 1 lays down provisions relating to the definition of forest, the establishment of forest boundaries and to land clearing. The text consists of 36 articles divided into 8 Parts as follows: Concept of forest, forest delineation and land clearing (1); Forest and land use planning (2); Protection against natural desasters (3); Entering, driving and other use of forests (4); Planning, care and use of forest (5); Promotion measures (6); Enforcement (7); Final provisions (8).
