Abstract

In compliance with the general rules and principles laid down in Act No. 979 of 31 December 1982, the present Decree provides for the establishment of the marine nature reserve “Torre Guaceto”, the boundaries of which are defined with detail under article 2. The marine reserve has been set up to protect and preserve its environment, flora and fauna, to carry out research and to disseminate information on marine biology. Article 4 lists out the activities which are forbidden, such as navigation, professional and sport fishing, hunting. The area is divided into three different protected zones: Zone A (Total Reserve); Zone B (General Reserve); Zone C (Partial Reserve).
