Abstract The present Decree establishes the marine nature reserve "Isole Tremiti" with a view to achieving the purposes defined by Act No. 979 of 31 December 1982, which include the environmental protection and the conservation and improvement of biological resources as well as fish repopulation. The marine area is demarcated by a line joining the points referred to in article 4. The area is divided into three zones (Zones A, B, C) in which certain activities, such as professional and sport fishing as well as navigation, are prohibited for protective purposes. Surveillance functions are entrusted to the Harbour's Master of Manfredonia.
