Abstract

This Instruction provides the approval of rules for conducting official controls regarding contaminants in food. Contaminant means any substance that is not added intentionally to food, which is present in this food, as a result of production (including actions performed in agriculture, animal husbandry and veterinary medicine), processing, preparation, treatment, packaging, transport or as a result of environmental pollution. This text approximates the Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2022/931 of 23 March 2022 supplementing Regulation (EU) 2017/625 of the European Parliament and of the Council by laying down rules for the performance of official controls as regards contaminants in food; and Council Regulation (EEC) No. 315/93 laying down Community procedures for contaminants in food.
