Abstract The Committee informs that only information regarding plots of land put for tender (auction) for the right of use of subsoil is subject to sale to foreign companies. For the purpose of ensuring equal rights of participation in tender (auction) all the potential purchasers must be informed of the conditions of sale of the packets of the respective geological and geophysical information. The Committee is authorized to make decisions regarding issue of licenses for sale of geological and geophysical materials to foreign companies. In accordance with common international practice sale of packets of information must be carried out directly at the presentation of tenders (auctions) or in the process of their realization through special information rooms. In case of sale abroad of the regional, scientific and methodological information on subsoil carried out within the framework of agreements and programs of scientific and technical cooperation and exchange, the Committee is authorized to issue permits for sale of such information taking into account the conditions of the respective agreements and programs and economic interests of the Russian Federation.
