Abstract

These Regulations amend the principal Regulations of 1995 so as to take into account amendments made to Directive 91/321/EC of the Commission. The amendments made relate to labelling of infant and follow-on formulae and the composition criteria included in the various Schedules. A new Schedule 8 specifying reference values for nutritional labelling is introduced. The definition of "food authority" is amended. An amendment of regulation 3 prohibits the sale of food which does not comply with newly introduced labelling standards as set out in the new regulation 14A. Regulation 3 of these regulations makes temporary provision with respect to sale or export of infant or follow-on formulae not being an offence. (3 regulations and a Schedule)
