Abstract

The Regulations prohibit the importation of skins of specified pups of seals and products derived from them. Those skins and products are specified in Annex I to these Regulations. Regulation 6 defines offences, whereas regulation 7 prescribes penalties for committing such offences. The prohibition does not apply to products resulting from traditional hunting by Inuit people. The Department of the Environment and such other body or person as the Minister may prescribe, shall be responsible for the administration and implementation of these Regulations.
