Abstract

The present Law lays down provisions relating to water resources in the Land Hessen. In particular, it applies to surface water and groundwater. The text consists of 130 articles divided into 13 Parts as follows: Waters, divisions of waters (I); Property of water beds (II); Use of waters (III); Maintenance and extension of surface waters, dykes (IV); Securing water discharge and protection of surface waters (V); Water surveillance (VI); Compulsory right of passage (VII) Compensation proceedings (VIII); Competent authorities, procedures (IX); Water Register (X); Planning of water resources (XI); Penalties (XII); Transitional and final provisions (XIII). Four Annexes are enclosed.
