Abstract

This Law, in order to protect the public health, sets rules aimed for caring out inspection control over the implementation of laws and other regulations governing the areas of: infectious diseases; health suitability or food and food safety; health adequacy of drinking water; buildings and devices for public drinking water supply; health suitability of mineral waters; products and substances that come into contact with food; cosmetic products; toys; tobacco, tobacco products; control of alcohol consumption; hygienic adequacy of bathing water; minimum sanitary and health conditions in public health institutions, for legal and natural persons who provide health care, legal persons, self-employed individuals or individuals who independently provide long-term care and holders of complementary activities on the farm in in accordance with the law regulating long-term care, in bathing facilities, in activities in the fields of child care, upbringing, education, hospitality, tourism, hygienic care, social care, the health-hygienic condition of temporary residences in the event of natural disasters and evacuations; general safety of products under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Health, except for chemicals, medicines, medical devices and radiation sources; handling of waste generated during the performance of medical activities, in facilities intended for these activities. The inspection also performs other tasks in accordance with special regulations, or supervises other regulations from the Ministry's work area. The inspection carries out control over persons, means of transport and goods at border crossings. To ensure the legality, quality and efficiency of the inspectors' work, professional and organizational control over their work shall also be carried out. Chapter V sets out penalty provisions.
