Abstract This Governmental Decree establishes that if waterworks in accordance with the criteria approved by this Governmental Decree may be assigned to different classes, then such a hydraulic structure belongs to the highest class of them. The established criteria classify waterworks by IV classes: (a) I class – by height and base soil; (b) II class – in accordance with purpose and operating conditions; (c) III class – protective structures, depending on maximum pressure on water-retaining structure; and (d) IV class – depending on the consequences of possible hydrodynamic accidents.
