This Decree classifies wastes in three categories regarding their more or less harmfulness on the basis of characteristics listed in Annex 1. A list of waste considered hazardous is set out in Annex 2. This Decree gives rules for the prevention of pollution by hazardous waste, producers of hazardous waste must compile a three years plan for the prevention and treatment of such waste, and proprietors of waste must keep a register. This Decree deals also with the collection, storage, and transport of hazardous waste. Articles 14.-37. determine detailed rules for the treatment of hazardous waste and regard also the import, transit and export of such waste. A fine is foreseen for offenders of the provisions of this Decree as well.
