Abstract

This Regulation, made on the basis article 77 subsection 1 of the Nature Conservation Act, establishes the procedure and rates of compensation for environmental damage caused by the destruction or damage of a protected natural object or other species of birds and mammals, except game, and the release into the environment of an alien species. The Regulation explains and defines: the meaning of environmental damage; the damage to a forest area and a protected area, including: violation of logging conditions, felling trees at a prohibited time, damaging and polluting the soil, burning wood or herbaceous vegetation without permits; the destruction of a permanent habitat; the destruction of a protected fossil site; the destruction of an individual of a protected animal or plant species; peculiarities in the calculation of environmental damage compensation rates; measurement of a tree in the calculation of environmental damage. The Regulation concerns: different rates of compensation for each specimen and species damaged or destroyed, and for violations of the rules.
