Abstract The Government Ordinance, which is composed of 16 articles and five Annexes, establishes: protection measures against the introduction into the national territory of organisms which are harmful to plants or plant products from other European Union Member States or from third countries; protection measures against the spread of harmful organisms within the European Community with means relating to transport of plants or plant products or other products; rules on plant protection certificates. The Ministry of Agriculture of the Slovak Republic shall be the coordination and contact center for international cooperation concerning plant protection. Annex 1 specifies those harmful organisms for which the introduction and spread is forbidden on the territory of all European Union Member States.
