Abstract The present Decree complements Regulation (EC) No. 999/2001, laying down provisions for the prevention, control and eradication of certain types of transmissible spongiform encephalopapathies (TSE) in slaughterhouses and processing sites. It applies to the disposal and control marking of carcases of bovine animals tested with BSE and of carcases of sheep tested with TSE, removal of spinal chord from sheep and goats, removal of meat from the head of bovine animals in processing rooms, approval of processing rooms, and provisions on TSE-risk material.
