Abstract The present Regulations have been adopted in implementation of the provisions laid down at the European Union level by Council Directive 2001/112/EC relating to fruit juices and certain similar products intended for human consumption. The First Schedule specifies the products which shall be covered by the rules hereby established (fruit juices, fruit nectars, concentrated fruit juices, etc.). The possibility of addition of vitamins and minerals to the products defined in part I of the First Schedule is not precluded. Only the treatments and substances listed in part II of the First Schedule and the raw materials complying with the Second Schedule may be used. Further provisions regard labelling.
