The Act also establishes the Foyle Fisheries Commission and provides for its constitution and functions. Part V concerns times of fishing; close seasons and close time; and method and gear of fishing, etc. Part VI aims at protecting fisheries and establishes that a person shall not fish for, take or kill salmon or such other kind of fish except under the authority of a fishing licence and in accordance with the terms and conditions of that licence. The Part continues prohibiting certain methods of fishing and practices liable to destroy salmon and other fish, envisaging protection of young and breeding fish, etc. Part VIA regulates aquaculture. Part VII regulates powers of authorized persons, and Part VIII legal proceedings.
