Abstract

The Ordinance contains at the outset a clause indicating its scope of application, as well as a definition clause relating to the various terms therein employed, such as "fowl pest", "diseased poultry", etc. Once the disease is ascertained in a certain place, all poultry is to be destroyed under official supervision. The plants have to be disinfected and cleaned according to EC guidelines. Around an infected area a radius of 10 km has to be declared as protected zone. Slaughterhouses within the area have to be surveyed closely. The Ordinance comprises 14 articles divided into 6 Parts.
