Abstract

These Regulations provide rules for the commercial harvesting of timber in state forests, provisional forests, registered private forests, and local authority forests. Certain rules shall not apply to the harvesting of forest produce in private forests. Harvesting of timber under these Regulations requires a licence from the Director of Kenya Forest Service. The Director shall carry out control on timber harvesting and may, among other things: attach conditions to a licence; revoke or suspend a licence; require a security bond to be deposited by a licensee; and require a licensee to submit a plan for restocking and repair of damage.
