Certain rules shall not apply to the harvesting of forest produce in private forests. Harvesting of timber under these Regulations requires a licence from the Director of Kenya Forest Service. The Director shall carry out control on timber harvesting and may, among other things: attach conditions to a licence; revoke or suspend a licence; require a security bond to be deposited by a licensee; and require a licensee to submit a plan for restocking and repair of damage.
